Dai Bosatsu Zendo is open to visitors from March to November. However, we cannot receive visitors without a scheduled appointment. Call us in advance at (845) 439-4566 to arrange your visit, or to reserve for all events. Please see our 2008 Calendar for a listing of events.

NOTE: As we are a practicing religious community and a private property, we cannot accommodate casual visitors who wish to enjoy our grounds.

Fall Kessei, September 17 to December 10
This three-month training period utilizes the discipline of structured daily zazen, chanting services, work practice, and formal meals, with the support and guidance of the sangha and Abbot Eido Shimano Roshi. As Kessei students follow the residents schedule, it is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Zen practice as the golden Fall gives way to the silence of winter snows. Harvest Sesshin, November 1 to 9

Thanksgiving Celebration, November 27-28
DBZ invites you to enjoy this day of gratitude and peace in the Catskill Mountains. There will be a special Thanksgiving Ceremony and Dharma Talk by Ven. Eido Shimano Roshi, followed by a delicious vegetarian feast. Overnight accommodations and brunch on Friday morning will complete the event.
